Anne Hellman is the author of The Indecipherables, a psychological horror novel about identical twins who confront their doppelganger set of twins on a California road trip, coming from Bantam Books in January 2027. She has published stories and essays in Catapult, Tertulia, Hyphen, and other publications, and has been an associate editor of Fiction magazine.

In 2020, Anne founded The Grandmother Project, an online archive of stories, photographs, and memories about the women who came before us. She is currently a Writing Mentor for Girls Write Now. Having grown up in Northern California, Anne lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and two sons. Her identical twin, Karen, lives in London.
